Equipment Loan Pool

Procedures

• Call IDS at 864-2600 or stop by 4 Budig Hall
• Supply information regarding what equipment is needed, when, where, and by whom
• Sign for the equipment when delivered (or when picked up)
• Return equipment to departmental office or IDS as soon as possible after use.
  

Policies

• Make reservations at least 48 hours in advance, and cancel unneeded equipment reservations to free up items for others.
• Reservations filled on a first-come/first-serve basis.
• Equipment may not be checked out for personal use nor taken off-campus without prior approval.
• IDS personnel will be happy to demonstrate equipment features or provide basic instruction for its use.
• Remember that equipment checked out is the responsibility of the client/department. Late fees, repair, or replacement fees may be charged.
• Equipment may be reserved on a semester-long basis. Contact IDS for additional information of these procedures.
  

Equipment Purchasing Consultation

• Assistance for the departmental equipment purchases can help with sections of high-quality equipment at cost-effective prices.
• Purchases may be bundled for volume-discount pricing, when applicable.
  
  

Tape Duplication

• We no longer provide audiotape duplication services. Please contact EGARC at 864-4759.
  
  

Instructional Facilities Support and Design Consultation

• Equipment permanently installed in the classrooms (e.g., overhead projectors) is maintained by IDS. Please notify us immediately if this equipment is missing, damaged, or not operating correctly.

• IDS can assist with the design (or redesign) of learning environments to ensure compatibility with and access to technology resources.
  
  

Permanently Stationed Equipment

• Many campus buildings have equipment permanently stored in them for classroom use.
• Contact IDS (864-2600) for information regarding equipment reservations and access at these locations.
  
  

Special Events - Equipment Delivery and Setup

• Special equipment needs (e.g., public address systems, video projection) are available. A nominal fee may be charged.
• Classroom videotaping is also available for student presentation, evaluation activities, guest speakers, or related activities.
• Contact IDS at 864-2600 one week in advance to make arrangements for this service.
